LENTEN SEASON

A number of events and services are planned for the upcoming season of Lent. We hope you can join us for some of the following opportunities:

SHROVE TUESDAY

On February 13th, a pancake supper will be held at 6pm as a fundraiser for Rise Against Hunger.

ASH WEDNESDAY SERVICES

Our Ash Wednesday services will be held at noon and 6 p.m. onWednesday, February 14, 2018.

WEDNESDAY SOUP SUPPERS AND STUDY

This weekly study will begin on February 21 at 5:30pm.  The book for discussion is Are We There Yet? Pilgrimage in the Season of Lent.  Twenty books have been purchased and will be available in the office within the next week.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

We will hold Stations of the Cross every Friday at 5 p.m.

QUIET DAY

On Saturday, March 10 from 10am to 2pm, we will hold a Quiet Day of Mediation on the Psalms in the Sanctuary. Silence continues atnoon when we will be offered readings and beverages in the PLC as you eat the lunch you brought. You may also want to bring a pillow and wrap for comfort. Worshipers are free to come and go as you are able.  However, the longer one is in a meditative silence the more likely one is to have a rich experience.  The event is offered by Deacon Anne, Mary Hall and Carol Hunt.  More information to follow.

MORNING PRAYER

Several Parishioners have been meeting in the Sanctuary to engage in Morning Prayer from 8:30 to 9:00 a.m.Monday through Friday.  We invite any members of the congregation to join us.  Even one day of Morning Prayer can be a great Lenten discipline.  Morning Prayer will be part of our regular services through Palm Sunday.  If you have questions, please talk to Russ Van Patten, Diane Lambly or one of our Deacons.
