In 1983 a small group of women from our ECW organized the first tour of a few gardens. Since then this annual fund raiser, always the first Saturday in May, has evolved into a day of self-guided touring of four or five beautiful gardens and a nice luncheon at church. During lunch we offer for sale interesting plants, many grown especially for our event and others planted by church members. Guests also have an opportunity to participate in a raffle of lovely donated items from our generous business community and parish members. Our tour has grown to a loyal attendance of as much as 1,000 people, rain or shine!
Next year, 2017, will mark our 34th year of Garden Tour.
Funds raised from Garden Tour are essential to our church’s many outreach programs, both locally as well as Mexico Mission, church hospitality services, and church maintenance. The entire parish and many community businesses willingly contribute their energy and donations to this project. In recent years, we have raised over $20,000.
Every year we give 10-20% of Garden Tour proceeds to local organizations. We select our community recipients each year in December.
Thank you for attending our Garden Tour and helping us serve the community. We rejoice that so much is accomplished by all of us working together, God being our helper!
