Troop 3 Boy Scouts was officially chartered to St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in 2017. Troop 3 currently includes 36 active Boy Scouts and 29 adult leaders. The Troop holds meetings every Monday at 7:00 pm in St. David’s Hall, and holds quarterly meetings called Courts of Honor in the Parish Life Center. Troop 3 is a Boy-led Troop, with camping, hiking, service projects, games, training, and fundraisers taking place throughout the year. We are also pleased to participate in church events like the Garden Tour and other events during the year.
Troop 3’s mission is to instill the values of the Scout Oath and the Scout Law in the boys who choose to become members. We believe that learning life skills and being a part of something bigger than the individual builds self-confidence and a positive mental attitude, enabling boys to grow into young men of strong character and purpose.
All boys are welcome to become members of Troop 3, where they and their families will find a supportive environment enabling them to grow and prosper under a very active scouting program. If you know a boy who may be interested in joining Troop 3 please have their parent or guardian contact Scoutmaster Dan Breedon at 530-519-2619. Troop 3 is open to visitors at all times, this is a good way for potential members to learn more and become familiar with Boy Scouts.
On Monday, our scout Troop 3 was awarded the Gold level of the Journey to Excellence award for their outstanding performance in troop planning, in program goals in camping, service projects, advancement, in membership growth, and in volunteer leadership training. The Troop follows the “boy-led” principal allowing scouts lots of opportunities to experience leading of Read More
Please help us honor and welcome the young scouts of Troop 3 and Pack 3 at the 10:15 a.m. service on Sunday, February 4. They will join us in worship and at coffee hour. For some it may be their first time in church. Scouts will share some of their scouting mementos and outdoor equipment during Coffee Hour.
Once again Troop 3 will harvest Nandina berries for their annual fundraiser this Saturday. If you have Nandina berries that can be harvested at your home or business you can help the scouts in one of two ways: 1. Contact us and we will come harvest them!
